Anne and John  spent two years searching for the perfect corner of Spain in which to design and build a home. they found Matarraña , an unspoiled historic region of Aragon, about 70km inland from Mediterranean. Pretty medieval villages occupy the hilltops, in between lie fields of olives, almonds and grapes. The Matarraña river and the Via Verde bike way wind through the region and make this a popular destination for those looking to escape the heat and bustle of the coast.

Working with Country Property, John and Anne-Catherine chose two rural adjoining sites with views of the Rojas mountains, and designed a modern and spacious off-grid residence on each. The terraced design will be use locally quarried limestone, and has a multiple outdoor spaces in which to enjoy the different seasons. the Country Property Team are supporting the project from land purchase all the way through design, planning approval and construction.  The result will be both a valuable investment in a prosperous region of Spain, and a spectacular home which they can enjoy year-round.
