“Neighbourhood on the small villages will be your allied”
On a progress world where everybody talks about “hub”, “start-up”, “smart cities”, “crowd founding” o “crowdsourcing” being progressive on a rural area it is not an easy job, because while everybody cares about tablets, computers, 3D, new technologies, net users, internet connexions and social networks, we forget the most important, the people.
I would like to talk about the local people. The ones they know more than anybody else how the rural live goes. We arrive from the cities trying to pull up from the roots their way of living without thinking one second the emotional consequences will have on them.
We are the ones who stands up fully loaded on a big stage in front of big audience and we talk about rural progress and we think that we have invented something really special, a new style of live on a country area. So well… this is not like this.
If we really wish to live in rural Spain we must be very respectful with the neighbourhood and care about them making them feel part of our progress.
Being patient and caring with people and make an economic movement on the area is possible; but remember that everyone makes steps forward of different sizes. Respect and you will be respected too, talk to locals on a way they can understand you and you will be recompense on many ways.
The neighbours of the small villages will be your allies.
We must remember that warm relationships and charming contacts between the locals and the new residents must exist to make a solid progress in rural areas. Until today many people have forgotten about this important aspect in social relations to obtain an economic progress and a sustainable live style. People that think that because they are in living in a city and wearing a cravat or high heels gives them the right to invade and overwhelm the rural areas by imposing their ideas of live improvement.
Let’s listen and look first, let’s be gentle and let’s forget about technologies as we are talking about persons.
Progress and rural live can go together and you can create a wonderful live, but please let’s be caring to the ones they know better than us the rural rules on rural live.
All together, building a great team we will indeed create a country community where progress, technology and traditions can happily coexist.
