It all started with a spontaneous holiday to Spain when we fell in love with the culture, food and the weather!
After returning to dreary England we knew we had to find a way to spend more time in the Sun and enjoying life by doing what matters to us- living self-sufficiently and free from 21st century stresses. For months we trawled the internet looking for rural property in Spain which could meet our modest budget. We eventually concluded that buying land with the legal framework to build our own dream home may be the way forward. However, the reality of buying somewhere that had all of the relevant paperwork and permissions to build in a foreign country was daunting to say the least.
Eventually we had the fortune of coming into contact with CountryProperty. From the moment we began talking to David and Sandra, we received nothing but helpful advice and informative guidance. All of which we can’t emphasize enough would have been impossible for us to do without him. He ensured that we were always involved with any decision-making process and his translation skills were crucial to the smoothness of the process. We are now the proud owners of a plot in Arens de Lledo and cannot wait to begin the building process!
As well as the informative professional guidance David and Sandra gave to us, we cannot thank them enough for making us feel so welcome and at home during our stay. From arranging our accommodation, to going out for drinks, eating at some of the best local restaurants- we really enjoyed our time with David and it only cemented how much we wanted to be part of his community.

“Well this is now the start of 2017 and the very beginning of our new adventure in Mattaranya.”
My husband Aidan and I are both in our mid-fifties,- kicking back from work, and looking forward to building our house in this beautiful, unspoilt, piece of paradise.
It was about 15 years ago that we bought our first holiday home abroad. We fell in love with Provence at that time -as being fluent French speakers, and with its good wine and food it ticked a lot of boxes. Our three children were all under 10 and a rambling Bastide in the hills was the perfect setting for long lazy summers. Ten years later as they all grew older and wanted to holiday independently we decided that a large house with its very expensive French taxes was no longer the good ‘fit’ it had once been. We also sort of felt that however much we adored the rosemary and thyme infused air and the local gastronomy we wanted a new adventure.
We started our search for our new “grown-up” house – something that would suit just us at this newly independent stage in our lives. We made numerous trips to both Kenya and Sri-Lanka where we explored properties there, but the combinations of political unrest and government red tape became issues that we didn’t need in our lives.
Back at the drawing board we listed some of the things that we felt were the most important factors in a new home. We wanted privacy, excellent views, year round flights from the north of England (we live near Alnwick) and a mountainous setting similar to what we had enjoyed in France.
On our 30th wedding anniversary in May 2016, we started to explore Catalonia and viewed several properties there. The restrictions however regarding inability to extend rural fincas and prohibition of swimming pools didn’t work for us so we drove west to explore Aragon and discovered Mattaranya. As soon as we stopped at Valderrobres we fell in love with it and decided there and then that this would be the “shire” for us!
Whilst researching the property and land for sale we discovered “Country Property in Spain” and returned in June when we first met David. I think it’s fair to say at this point that as two individuals who are slightly cynical of estate agents and their ilk – (Aidan builds and renovates property in the UK and I am an ex-police-officer) David seemed almost ‘too good to be true’ with his openness, honesty and razor sharp mind. It didn’t take long however, after numerous chats – whilst he drilled down into exactly what we wanted – that we realised that he was going to prove to be the magic ingredient we needed to realise our dream.
We saw the ruin and our little slice of heaven on our first day of viewing and decided there and then to buy. It is testament to David’s determination to ensure that we weren’t bowled over by the first place we saw – that he insisted that we viewed several other properties to ensure that we were making the right decision.
David then did the necessary hand-holding as he helped us to receive our NIE’s…. as neither of us speak Spanish very well – he accompanied us a total of three times to the Police stations until we were successful. I have no doubt that without his help we would still be trying to get them !
Before purchase, we had a list of must-haves, including habitation licences and swimming pools. David organised and attended meetings with the local Mayor and associated officials to make sure that these were all in place before we parted with any money, as well as acting as translator. On the human side he arranged meetings with the vendors which gave us an opportunity to let them know that their ancestral land would be sensitively developed and they in turn made us feel warmly welcomed into the small community.
We became the proud owners of our ruin and land just before Christmas last year – and are already planning a summer camping on site as, hopefully ,the building process starts.
We have been impressed by examples of building contracts and project plans for other clients that David has shown us and the “No money up front” approach is exactly the way to inspire confidence in two cynics like us. We like the micro payment system of stage payments after individual pieces of work have been completed as there is little room for costs to spiral or our hard-earned money to be lost.
In short – we have secured our little piece of paradise in an area very similar to that which we enjoyed in Provence – sunshine, pine forests, wild herbs, superb landscapes and a much cheaper standard of living into the bargain! “

“A life in Matarraña”……
I divide my life into «books» – and these books will also contain chapters……
I have written the first chapter about creating a place to live in Aragon – the next chapters will deal with exploring the life and culture in Matarraña and the rest of Spain……..
This journey started many years ago, back in 2000, when I decided to buy a property abroad. I used more than a year on internet and thereafter visited many countries around the Mediterranean…..
I ended up in Spain for many reasons, the culture, the people, the food and the most exiting history of this peninsula…..
Why Matarraña ?
I sought a place away from the tourism areas, a place with a genuine atmosphere and with lots of possibilities to walk the mountains, do bicycling and kayaking and a place where I could get to know the Spanish people and learn the language…..
I also wanted a place with lot of space and a place where I could be “independent”……..making my own electricity, pumping my own water and cutting my own firewood for heating….
Why Country Properties ?
I contacted several Real Estate Agents in Spain – and I visited many places and saw many properties….
Country Properties however gave me the feeling that they would be there all the way – and make sure that my project would come true…….
I meet David and Sandra the first time in 2009 – and we looked at several options, big and smaller estates, until I settled for the property I finally bought the same year……
In 2010 the arcitect Manel had planned my first house and we started building with Antonio as superviser….
A year later the house was finished and we started planning the next house together with Manel – the outbuilding or almacen…..
In 2013 the builder, Josep, started building…..and finished about a year later according to plan…..
This year, 2016, we managed to get the “Declaración de obra nueva finalizada” for the property – this means that my property officially is a legal part of Spain – and a legal place for me to stay….
I could not have done this alone – and I thank Sandra, David, Manel, Antonio, Josep and all the other wonderful people that have made this dream of mine come true…..
This also means that the first chapter of my book about my life in Spain is closed……..
I am now looking forward to start exploring the surroundings, the nature, the culture and the exiting history of Spain…..

My experiences with David Suarez
I bought a finca in February 2015 and the request for permission to build a house was done in December 2015. With help of David and his architect Manel. Starting of the building process is to be expected in the course of 2016. Organisation is mainly in hands of David and Manel.
David is very different from the house-agents in the country I come from, Holland. There they tend to be formal and well dressed, while David is quite informal and in casual dress. He is full of stories and humoristic, so a day with David is a funny day. He is offering a wide range of nice plots and is amazingly rapid and capable in selecting the ones just suiting you. I also did a day with another agent and his prices were comparable and in general his fincas were a bit less attractive (with one very cheap exception because of special circumstances).
David is very well informed and has an extended regional network in the world of the officials (municipality, forest service etc.). This is of great help when formal paperwork is needed. David is very supportive in al lot of ways, often spending many hours together.
So far the bright side.
Eloquent David is always struggling with time (though his performance is better when things are really critical), his estimates are too sunny. His words sometimes too. In the beginning this was confusing for me, but now that I know him better, I think that David is such a mega-optimistic person that sometimes a (essential) detail in his information is too sunny coloured. David admits his problems with time management (trying to improve) and comments ‘ …but my intentions are O.K.’ Working with David it helps when you put this sentence in your mind.
My appreciation for David grew enormously when I had a bushfire on my finca.
I still feel ashamed: It was my own fault. This is the story and I think it is important for every new finca-owner from abroad in Matarranya.
It was in December and, after getting a permission for burning from the municipality, I started cleaning my terrain. On an open spot I had a pile of dry branches of bramble that I wanted to get rid of. One match was enough to set fire to the branches …. and fully unexpectedly also rapidly to the dry grass around the pile!
In my country this bit of old grass doesn’t burn easily, but here in the dry Matarranya the greedy fire spread in all directions! I worked like an idiot to stop it and when I managed to block the fire on one side, it escaped – growing bigger and bigger – on the other side. I saw that the flames could jump, leaving a meter untouched and continuing elsewhere. The spreading fire reached the first bushes of evergreen oak and it was as if all the leaves were drizzled with gasoline: whoummm! In a flash the whole bush was burning. And the next one…. At that moment it became clear to me that the fire was now unstoppable, the more so because I was exhausted. Help, what could I do? My first thought: “Call David”. After 10 minutes he arrived. Seeing how big the fire was, he immediately phoned the fire department. During the hot summer period they are stationed nearby, but now they had to come from far away. So it took quite a while before we heard the helicopter. With balloons full of water the fire was stopped from the air, while a crew of firemen was working on ground level. They managed to stop the fire before it reached the surrounding forest and the finca of my neighbours. Pffff I had been lucky … with substantial damage to my neihhbours it would have been quite a disaster.
So if I am going to make a fire next time, I will do this in the presence of a local expert. On ploughed soil and after taking several precautions. And I will be very motivated to keep clean the 25 meters around my future house!
So in short: as your indispensable local agent skilfull David manages the realization of your plans concerning a finca and a house, while you are doing something on Davids time-management.

Redan 2009 så började vi leta efter en egen plats i soliga Spanien. Vår dröm var att kunna expandera och bedriva vår hästverksamhet där. Vi började vår sökning i södra Spanien och träffade många olika mäklare och tittade säkert på 30 olika objekt, men inget vi direkt fastnade för.

Already 2009 we started to look for our own spot in sunny Spain. Our dream was to expand and manage our Equestrian business there. We started our hunt in southern Spain and met a lot of estate agents and watched probably 30 different prospects, but we didn´t go for it.
Lately we focused our search in Northern Spain in the area of Tortosa. We felt that the climate suited us better and the people are very friendly and supportive. We also discovered that we got most value for money in this area.
Beginning of 2013 we met David and Sandra who lives and work as estate agents in the area. Then suddenly everything started to move and today we are happy owners to a piece of land (6 ha). We gingen naar Spanje op zoek naar een stuk land om er op te bouwen en er op termijn voorgoed te gaan leven en werken. We waren goed voorbereid en dachten dat we precies wisten wat we wilden.
Bij de eerste afspraak met David was onze vaste overtuiging dat we meteen landjes gingen bekijken. Niets was minder waar. In David troffen we een makelaar die ons, vóórdat we landjes gingen bekijken, goed de spiegel voorhield. Hij legde ons precies uit hoe e.e.a. echt werkte in Spanje, informeerde uitgebreid naar onze plannen en gaf haarfijn aan wat daarvan niet kon en wel kon en van dat laatste wat er voor nodig was om dat te realiseren.
Naast het feit dat we via David een landje hebben kunnen kopen dat nog mooier was als dat uit onze dromen, blijven we David altijd dankbaar voor zijn altijd kritische maar ook zeer behulpzame houding. Hierdoor hebben we ook in relatie tot de bank, de overheid en het benodigde ingenieursburo veel sneller stappen kunnen zetten als dat we dat zelf allemaal hadden moeten doen.
Als mens hebben we David leren kennen als iemand met een altijd opgetogen, vrolijke uitstraling die altijd denkt in termen van mogelijkheden en oplossingen i.p.v. onmogelijkheden.
Kortom een partner van onschatbare waarde als je vanuit het buitenland de plek nam je dromen wilt realiseren in Aragon / Catalonië.

We went to Spain looking for a piece of land to build, to live and to work on. We were well prepared and thought we knew exactly what we wanted.
At the first appointment with David our firm expectation was that we would went straight away looking for properties. But things went completely different. In David we found an agent that, before we went to visit the properties, exactly wanted to know what our plans and expectations were. After that he explained to us in detail how things rule in Spain and what was needed to make our plans successful. Finally he showed us only the properties that exactly fit with our plans.

C’est certain si vous cherchez un McDo, il vous faudra faire quelques kilomètres mais le coin vaut vraiment le détour. Une rivière, promesse de prochaines baignades, sillonne la région, l’odeur des pins et des herbes aromatiques vous suivent au moindre rayon de soleil, sans oublier la réserve naturelle toute proche, sa montagne survolées par de impressionnants vautours.
Si je m’attardais, je vous parlerais de la gentillesse des habitants à l’image de David sans qui notre rêve aurait été plus ardu. Nous l’en remercions encore…

Firstly, you helped me out when I experienced an unfortunate incident near to Reus Airport and made sure that I was not left stranded even though you did not know me well.
You trusted me. Secondly, you made the whole buying process stress free from the initial viewings to obtaining the required N.I.E (tax number) and opening of a bank account and then accompanying me in going to the Notary to complete the contract. I am pleased that I allowed myself to be guided by your excellent intermediary skills and didn’t try to do it on my own. My partner and I had a wonderful time visiting Arens de Lledo. The village is nestled in the rolling hills on the border of Aragon and only a short distance to the mountains of the national park. David and Sandra looked after us very well at the hostal and it was great to meet both the friendly local people and other people who had moved into the area.
Many of these heartilly recommended David’s professional services to us and it was obvious his tenacity and enterprise are opening doors for many people. Looking forward to another trip there in a few months.
Other agents have a lot to learn from David and Sandra. I was immediately reassured when I met David and he talked me through the process, explaining the rules for building, permissions and the timelines required. This was before he showed me anything. When he did, it was varied and of quality. He is sensitive to a buyer’s wishes, sometimes before s/he knows what they are. Buying in Spain is not for the faint-hearted: the paperwork can be frustrating but David ensured that the process, laborious though it was, resulted in success, with everything and everybody in the right place.
As one hears horror stories of people paying for properties to which they have no title deeds, it was a relief to have Eshkeri and Grau prepare everything so meticulously: the police registration, opening a bank account, the contracts and the final purchase. I might have been disheartened and given up half-way through had all concerned not made the professional contact one which was pleasant and encouraging. David has put together a good team, and it is reassuring to have him and Sandra based in the village, where they are available for advice and the inevitable handholding required by new arrivals. Arens de Lledó is benefiting from their dynamism, with Hostal La Sociedad as the centre of all activity.As a single woman, I have no hesitation about the move to Spain.
Andy and I have been looking for a property in Spain for the last 4 years. On our Journey we have made many friends along the way a couple of whom had fallen prey to the dishonesty of various estate agents and helplessly we watched them loose their dreams through the lies of these people. We thank God that we were fortunate to meet David Suarez. David has years of experience and it shows. After only a few property visits David can pin down exactly what you are looking for and he usually finds it for you. David’s knowledge of the area and local workings of the official paper trail which epitomises Spain is second to none.

During our search for a suitable land in Spain we came in contact with Country Property via the Net, and we were very positive surprised. After we told what we liked, we got a number of serious and well selected proposals for evaluation. Having selected some properties to view we went to visit Spain and have a on-site inspection. At the visit in Spain we were staying at the “hostal La Sociedad” proving to be not only the office for Country Property, but the turning point for most of the social activities in the town and area.
Having looked through the proposed properties and planned the inspections we started off on one of a life time experiences: The guidance and knowledge proved to be more than excellent, there was an answer to all our questions and as we moved along we got the search narrowed down we also got new and more suitable properties presented. When we got home after a long and eventful day it was a pleasure staying at “hostal La Sociedad”in nice friendly and professional surroundings.
We can definitely recommend both “Country properties” if you consider buying in northern Spain and also “hostal La Sociedad” that are placed in beautiful surrounding with lots of possibilities for nature, hiking and some historical sites as bonus.

About two years ago we began our search for a farm. David has shown us not only land, again and again property (in Horta and Arens)organized, facilitates contacts and answered countless questions – forpermits, planning procedures, regulations, etc. ..
After the visit of three villas with David was the right place. But thatsimply can not be true – and yet there it was. His strategy is to figure out what to try and find his customers, came good here, too.
David has always competently advise us with great expertise. As anexpert in governmental regulations and local conditions, it is more than just a realtor. What could we write about our experience in buying a property in Spain from Country Properties Catalyuna (David Suarez) that has not already been written? It is difficult, but as with others, everyone has also had unique experiences. Country Properties Catalyuna is not just an real estate company. David Surez is the personification of Country Properties Catalyuna together with Sandra, Juanito and Manel. Without them, the company would be just another Spanish real estate company with interest in the “bottom line”, along with little interest in customer satisfaction and protection.
We have been very lucky in our Spanish property buying experience. We researched and concluded that we would buy a property in Aragon. To this end, we telephoned all of the relevant estate agents in the area. Only one, David, arranged that we have suitable, budget accomodation (the house in Horte Sankt Joan) and he arranged to meet with us on our arrival. Even though we had informed the other estate agents about our schedule, none had time to show us any properties within the dates of our visit. These other agents positively sealed our fate and pushed us in the right direction. In the meantime, we met with David and Juanito, who set about showing us suitable properties. Juanito’s patience was unbelievable. He even drove us back to see a property, just to show us the way and he often waited patiently in car while David walked with us over the properties. As northern Europeans, we often felt guilty and could hardly understand their calm attitude and lack of stress. That in itself is quite an experience. Furthermore, during our visit, David met with us almost everyday to discuss our requirements and answer questions. He had undeterred patience. He became our friend in the process and we felt that he had our best interests at heart.
On the other side of the coin, now that we know David, he was taking a personal interest. He was getting to know us – sizing us up to determine if we really would benefit and have the required energy to make a move to Spain. This is an important aspect of David’s philosophy. He was also using his own assessment of our likes, dislikes and requirements in order to show us properties that he determined would be suitable. Yes, “he determined” because he had used his wit and energy to get to know us. David is a bit of a psychologist. He loves his chosen work. He has a tremendous interest in people and an unbelievable amount of energy. He once told us that he has no need to travel because he meets all cultures in Spain – people who come to buy properties. This is his interest into which he immerses himself with total committment. What more could one ask of a person?
On the humourous side – David quickly understood that Joy was terrified of mountainous, winding roads, almost impossile to avoid in Teruel. On occasions, when Joy expressed doubt about the chosen property for silly reasons, David consoled her fears by sending her off on severe mountainous excersions or driving her to other houses on winding roads. After each trip, David always asked (tongue in cheek) about the journey, knowing the answer – “I love my chosen land because I can drive there without fear”. David took some pleasure in the teasing ceremony, but the point was well taken.
Because of David, our property buying in Spain went as smoothly as one would ever want. We made 4 trips to Spain. On the second trip, David showed us the perfect property after which we made the deposit on a property that we had not fully seen. On the third trip, we walked around most of the property with David, Juanito and Manel. On the fourth trip, we bought the property and finally walked around all of the property. So, we bought a property that we had not fully seen, due to our trust in David. We love it and cannot wait to move to the next phase – renovation, water, electricity, etc. – not to mention the move to Spain.
For legal assistance, we hired Ton Batlle of AGL in Tarragona who worked very well with David, both of whom protected our best interest. One could not find a more friendly and capable lawyer, whom we fully reccomend. The purchase went smoothly and David and Ton were extremely diligent in explaining the process, available options and protecting our interests.
The first hurdle is over. We now own a lovely piece of land in Spain with 2 ruined houses, no electricity or water. This is just the beginning and we know that we will not be able to progress towards the ultimate (the move to Spain, house renovation, water, etc.) without the assistance and friendship of David, Sandra, Juanito and Manel. In that, we are confidently assured that their interest goes beyond simply selling a property and then dropping the customers. Once one has been priviledged to buy a property from David, he will personally ensure that one will also have the necessary assistance to move to that property. Of that, we have no doubt.
We have not just dealt with a real estate company. We have dealt with persons and made permanent friends in Spain. Now, as guru David says –“Its just a question of energy“
Hvad kunne vi skrive om vores erfaringer i at købe en ejendom i Spanien fra Country Properties Catalyuna (David Suarez), som ikke allerede er skrevet? Det er vanskeligt, men som med andre, har alle også haft unikke oplevelser. Country Properties Catalyuna er ikke bare en ejendomsmægler virksomhed. David Surez er personificeringen af Country Properties Catalyuna sammen med Sandra, Juanito og Manel. Uden dem ville selskabet blive bare en anden spansk ejendomsmægler virksomhed med interesse i “bottom line”, sammen med lidt interesse i kundetilfredshed og beskyttelse.
Vi har været meget heldige i vores spanske ejendom købsoplevelse. Vi forsket og konkluderede, at vi ville købe en ejendom i Aragon. Til dette formål, ringede vi alle relevante ejendomsmæglere i området. Kun én, David, arrangeret, at vi har passende, billig overnatning (huset i Horte Sankt Joan), og han aftalt at mødes med os på vores ankomst. Selvom vi havde meddelt de andre ejendomsmæglere om vores tidsplan, havde ingen tid til at vise os ingen ejendommer inden datoerne for vores besøg. Disse andre agenter positivt forseglet vores skæbne og skubbede os i den rigtige retning. I mellemtiden mødte vi med David og Juanito, der satte om at vise os egnede ejendomme. Juanito’s tålmodighed var utroligt. Han selv kørte os tilbage for at se en ejendom, bare for at vise os vejen, og han ofte ventede tålmodigt i bilen, mens David gik med os over ejendomme. Som nordeuropæere, vi ofte følte sig skyldig og kunne næppe forstå deres rolige attitude og manglende stress. Dette i sig selv er noget af en oplevelse. Desuden under vores besøg mødtes David med os næsten hver dag for at diskutere vores krav og besvare spørgsmål. Han havde ufortrødent tålmodighed. Han blev vores ven i processen, og vi følte, at han havde vores bedste interesser på hjerte.
På den anden side af medaljen, at vi nu kender David, han tog en personlig interesse i os. Han var ved at lære os at kende – dimensionering os op at afgøre, om vi virkelig ville gavne og har den nødvendige energi til at gøre et skifte til Spanien. Dette er et vigtigt aspekt af Davids filosofi. Han var også vurdere vores lide, antipatier og krav for at vise os egenskaber, at “han bestemt” ville være passende. Ja, siger vi “han bestemt”, fordi han havde brugt sin humor og energi til at lære os at kende. David er lidt af en psykolog. Han elsker sin udvalgte arbejde. Han har en enorm interesse i mennesker og en utrolig mængde energi. Han har engang fortalt os, at han ikke har behov for at rejse, fordi han møder alle kulturer i Spanien – folk, der kommer til at købe ejendomme. Dette er hans interesse i, som han fordyber sig med totalt engagement. Hvad mere kan man bede om en person?
På den humoristiske side – David hurtigt forstod, at Joy var rædselsslagen for bjergrigt, snoede veje, næsten umuligt at undgå i Teruel. På lejligheder, da Joy udtrykt tvivl om den valgte ejendomme til fjollede årsager David trøstede hende frygt ved at sende hende ud på svær bjergrige udflugter eller kørsel hende til andre huse på snoede veje. Efter hver tur, altid spurgte David (tungen i kinden) om rejsen, at kende svaret – “jeg elsker mine udvalgte land, fordi jeg kan køre der uden frygt”. David tog nogle glæde i drilleri ceremoni, men pointen var godt taget.
På grund af David, gik vores ejendom køb i Spanien så gnidningsløst som man nogensinde ville ønsker. Vi lavede 4 ture til Spanien. På anden tur, viste David os den perfekte ejendom, hvorefter vi gjorde indskud på en ejendom, som vi ikke havde helt set. På tredje tur, gik vi rundt i det meste af ejendommen med David, Juanito og Manel. På fjerde tur, købte vi ejendommen og til sidst gik rundt af ejendommen. Så vi købte en ejendom, som vi ikke havde helt set, på grund af vores tillid til David. Vi elsker det og kan ikke vente med at flytte til den næste fase – renovering, vand, elektricitet, osv. – for ikke at nævne flytningen til Spanien.
For juridisk bistand, lejede vi Ton Batlle af AGL i Tarragona, som arbejdede meget godt med David, som begge er beskyttet vores bedste interesse. Man kunne ikke finde en mere venlig og i stand advokat, som vi fuldt ud anbefale. Køb gik gnidningsløst og David og Ton var meget flittig med at forklare den proces, tilgængelige indstillinger og beskytte vores interesser.
Den første hurdle er overstået. Nu, ejer vi en dejlig stykke jord i Spanien med 2 ødelagte huse, ingen elektricitet eller vand. Dette er kun begyndelsen, og vi ved, at vi ikke vil være i stand til fremskridt mod det endelige (flytning til Spanien, hus renovering, vand osv.) uden bistand og venskab af David, Sandra, Juanito og Manel. I det, er vi selvsikkert sikret, at deres interesse går ud over blot at sælge en ejendom og derefter slippe kunderne. Når man har været priviligeret at købe en ejendom fra David, vil han personligt sørge for, at man også vil have den nødvendige bistand til at flytte til denne ejendom. Af det, har vi ingen tvivl om.
Vi har ikke kun drejede sig om en ejendomsmægler virksomhed. Vi har behandlet med personer og gøres permanent venner i Spanien. Som guruen David siger,“Nu er det bare et spørgsmål om energi”
PS Vi håber, at vores danske oversættelse er uden alt for mange fejl. Selv om vi er danske, vores moder sprog er engelsk.
We were the first guests to stay in the long awaited reformed Sociedad, in Arens de lledo, and as we arrived that evening I was a bit aprehensive as, I would say the entire population of this beutiful village was waiting to see what work had been done, and were preparing themselves for the grand tour of their villages only Hostal, Bar, Restaurant.
All our nerves and apprehension were soon put to bed, when everybody had seen for their own eyes what a wonderful job, David, Sandra and the council of Arens de lledo had achieved with the reformation of la Sociedad. On entry to the room the first thing we noticed was the great trouble the management had gone to make them look warm, with each room having a different colour scheme, that alongside the tastefully chosen furniture and the more then comfortable beds ( that had to be Sandra’s doing). All this complimented by a on suite bathroom which has a long supply of hot water and a powerful shower which matches any good hotel.
After the first impression of the rooms we thought it could not get much better value, but again we were wrong, considering the entire village was present, David, Sandra and family still made time and effort to make us completely welcome, serving us with a huge variety of drinks and food all night, nothing was to much trouble,as guests we had never been made to feel so welcome.
Thank you David, Sandra and the people of Arens de lledo for making our holiday a comfortable, enjoyable experience, which we will never forget,and for anyone reading this who is on the fence about coming here, do, as it is a perfect example of what rural Spain has to offer.
